This kit makes a Japanese sashiko stitched drawstring bag using KOKI hardware (included). The Hydrangea sashiko pattern is printed in wash away ink. When you have finished your sashiko stitching and sewn up the drawstring bag seams, rinse in warm water and only your stitching will be left.
The stitching on this bag is done with the Kuguri-sashi Sashiko style stitching. Kuguri-sashi is a two step Sashiko process. First you stitch the horizontal and vertical stitch lines. When you are finished those, you complete the pattern by weaving thread under those stitches. It isn't difficult to do, and the kit comes with english directions.
