This small sashiko project has everything you need (except scissors) included. It is perfect to tuck in your bag in case you find yourself in need of a project while waiting at an airport, ferry terminal, or for your husband to return to the car...... :-D
A nice beginner sashiko stitching kit.
Included:
- English language instructions for How to do Sashiko Stitching for beginners, and excellent photographs with arrows to show you which order of stitching to use for the specific design in your kit.
- Dark blue indigo dyed cotton fabric with the sashiko design, cutting and stitching lines clearly marked on it in wash away ink. The fabric margins are generous and include enough for backing.
- This fabric is natural indigo vat dyed medium weight cotton and the sashiko threads are a slightly rougher finish than the other sashiko threads on this site.
- Peel and stick interfacing (unnecessary in my opinion, but you decide :-)
- two needles (one for sashiko, one for sewing, and a pin)
- 3 colours of sashiko thread (natural white for sashiko stitching, blue for sewing the coaster seams, and red for stitching accent colour and for tassels )
- a re-usable punched thread organiser card
- When completed the kit will make a completely finished 4"X 4" sashiko coaster with tassels. You can, of course, do other things with it - a sachet with scented herbs, a patch on your jeans, a needle book cover, a detail in a wall hanging...
