More about this fabric:

What does Wagara mean?  wa means “Japanese-style” and gara means “pattern.”  Sometimes these fabrics are called Kimono cloth because they were often used to make kimonos as well as other household items.

Olympus fabrics are always very high quality. They take care to re-create traditional fabrics as close as possible to the look and feel of the original artisan made fabric, while still making them colourfast and machine/dry for our modern day uses.

One of the details you can notice in the Takumi series is that they have printed the traditional patterns and motifs on a specially made greyed fabric background which gives the the fabric the more subtle tones of an older style fabric. You may also enjoy the more textured feel of the cloth.
