Olympus has designed this starter dye kit to make an easy fun project of dying your own sashiko threads. The kit contains everything you need to dye the 60 meters of cotton thread included (but I have been told it can dye at least twice that amount).
Make amazing variegated skeins, or develop your own colours. The kit contains 3 primary colours (yellow, cyan, magenta although they call them prettier names in the video) so you can pretty much any colour you want (if your colour theory is weak there are lots of u-tube art videos that can help)
There are english directions supplied, but if you find them not detailed enough, here is a u-tube link to walk you through the process.
The process they have designed is low mess and easy. It would also be a fun project to do with kids.
The kit contains:
- 3 - 10 ml containers of dye
- 1 -10 ml container of fixative
- 3 dye liner applicator containers
- 3-20 meter skeins of ready to dye sashiko thread pkgd together
