This  Ultimate Classic Sashiko Easy Graphing Kit contains everything you'll need to learn to graph (draw out) and stitch the 52 Sashiko designs included.

This kit contains everything you will need to learn to draw out and stitch patterns from the 52 sashiko patterns in the Ultimate Sashiko Card Deck.

In the kit:

  •  Ultimate Sashiko Card Deck (52 pattern & instruction cards)
  • instruction booklet
  • 1/2 meter of dark navy sashiko stitching cotton cloth with wash out dot grid marks (so you don't have to draw your grid lines before you begin the fun part!)
  • 100 meters of Olympus Sashiko thread,
  • a pkg of 4 Olympus sashiko needles,
  •  the traditional leather sashiko palm thimble
  • and a bonus low waste iron away fabric pen

Suitable for absolute beginners, but also interesting for experienced sashiko stitchers who may want to expand their knowledge and add to the patterns they already stitch.

In side the beautifully boxed set of 52 Sashiko cards, each card has a Sashiko design with a sample of a stitched design on one side, and easy to use diagrams and instructions on the back for drawing and stitching the design yourself.

Among the 52 cards are nine easy to identify foundational stitch patterns that act as the starting point for Sashiko.  If you have been Sashiko stitching for some time, you will find these interesting to learn about.

The cards are beautifully presented in a strong wafer sealed box, with a red belly band. Included in a 16 page booklet which fits inside the box is everything from you need to know if you are an absolute beginner, from how to start your stitching, stitch without knots, find the order of stitching,  to choosing fabrics, threads & needles.

If you can only buy one 'how to Sashiko' product, I would recommend this one.

More details:

The cards are the perfect introduction to this ancient art, with a beautiful photograph sample presented along with the name of the stitch pattern and a little bit about it, including which other patterns it pairs well with or may be similar to. The cards show the finished stitch pattern as a beautiful swatch, along with a brief history of its name, and on the overleaf the instructions for how to make the pattern yourself, with a clear diagram.
