When you slide the button on the needle threader forward a LED light comes on and the threader comes out like a tiny ladybug tongue. Smart right? You have focused light while you use the threader, and it slides inside and is protected when you don't. It was so cute I took photos of it being used! The shape is comfortable in your hand, and there is a thread cutter built into the side for extra convenience. There is also a lanyard slot at the back edge.
