Kogin thread is little thicker than sashiko thread. It is strong, soft, colourfast, washable and has a little sheen. You are meant to use the entire strand.

Kogin thread is also frequently used for other counted needlework techniques (cross stitch, canvas work..) as well as for sashiko stitching, boro stitching, visible mending, & toy making.
Manufactured from long staple Egyptian cotton, this Kogin thread is made by the same Olympus Manufacturing Company in Japan that makes the well loved & time tested Olympus Sashiko threads.
The dye lot colours are very stable.
