This medium weight cotton fabric dyed in natural indigo is perfect for Sashiko stitching, boro stitching, visible mending, piecework and other sewing projects.
It is a perfect fabric for the 365 Sashiko quilt project in Susan Briscoe's book by the same name.
- Dark blue shade of indigo dye (I've put 2 other shades (darkest blue & medium blue) in the photos here so you can compare. They are also available on this website)
- 44" wide
- preshrunk, machine wash and dry on low temperatures
- This fabric has been very well rinsed to remove unfixed dye so it won't rub off on your fingers or turn nearby fabrics smudgy blue
Notes: Because this is a dye made from a fermented plant dye, there will always be variations form one dyed batch to another. Also natural indigo dye has a little odour (kind of musty). It will fade with airing or washing.
To order: order 1 for every half meter in length you want. This means if you order 2 you will be sent 1 meter, order 3 to be sent 1.5 meters and so on. Your fabric will be sent to you in one uncut piece.
