Tropical sashiko flowers combine appliqué with sashiko in Sylvia Pippen's well known design style.
Use in a quilt, or group a few to make a runner. One alone will make a beautiful table centre mat.
These make up beautifully with quilting cotton fabrics, but if you like to appliqué with wool fabric, they are great patterns for that. The added softness and texture work so well for the flowers (plus those tiny flower bits are easy to appliqué with wool because you don't need to turn the edges!)
Finished size: 13 1/2" x 13 1/2" octagon shaped block.
