Moyo-sashi (Continuous Line Sashiko)

This collection of traditional design Sashiko stitching samplers are also called Moyo-sashi. These designs are made of long continuous lines which are stitched by one at a time, usually beginning with the horizontal lines, and when those are done stitching the vertical lines, and finally any diagonal lines. The design emerges as the lines cross, intersect or parallel each other.  I have included english language instructions.

The patterns are printed with wash out ink on Japanese sarashi-momen (cotton) fabric. Simply stitch over the printed markings and when you are finished the markings will wash out leaving only your stitching.
